Postseason play at work -- here's the catch
TOO BUSY with your own kids' games to watch the real thing? Thanks to Major League Baseball's Web site, mlb.com, folks who can't set aside every night in October to catch postseason play don't have to miss a minute of the action. Complete radio broadcasts are available online after every game for those who may want to sneak one in during work the next day. Just dial up mlb.com and click on 'Audio." For $9.95, you can access more than 2,000 game broadcasts.
What you'll need: A 28.8k modem, a bag of peanuts and a set of headphones so the boss doesn't catch on.

The 41-year-old "NYPD Blue" actress-turned-anchor for the revamped CNN Headline News isn't letting the critics who call her a lightweight bring her down. 'As a reporter, I support everybody's First Amendment right to free speech. They can say whatever they want," says Thompson, who moved from Albuquerque to Atlanta for the CNN job. Some of her favorite sites:
assignmenteditor.com 'It's like one-stop shopping for great stories."
bluefly.com, for clothes, accessories and cosmetics. 'I break into hives if I approach a department store."
cartoonnetwork.com, a favorite of son Alec, 8, whose Web surfing she monitors closely. 'He's not allowed to log on unless I'm there looking over his shoulder."
