At our photo shoots, Randy Johnson and Vince Carter gave us authentic memorabilia: One winner will receive Johnson's autographed shoes and a signed baseball. Another winner will get Carter's autographed shoes and a (machine-signed) Vince Carter edition basketball. The random drawing from among all eligible entries will be held on or about July 22, 2002.

OFFICIAL RULES: USA WEEKEND BASEBALL VS BASKETBALL SWEEPSTAKES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER/WIN. PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE ODDS OF WINNING. ALL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

Sweepstakes open to U.S. residents (excluding Puerto Rico), 18 years or older at time of entry. Employees of USA WEEKEND, Gannett Co., Inc., affiliated companies, and agents, and the immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with such employees, are not eligible. Sweepstakes will begin at 12:01 a.m. (E.S.T.) on June 21, 2002 and all entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. (E.S.T.) on July 11, 2002. To enter, log on to usaweekend.com click on "Baseball vs. Basketball" and complete all of the required entry information. Only one entry per person. All entries become property of USA WEEKEND (Sponsor).

Two (2) Winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries to be held on or about July 22, 2002. One Winner will receive a personally autographed Randy Johnson pair of spikes (which he wore in a game this year) and personally autographed baseball. Another Winner will receive a personally autographed Vince Carter pair of sneakers and machine-autographed basketball from Wilson.

Sponsor will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, misdirected entries, or for failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or Sponsor. Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted or the identity of person submitting entry shall be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, and Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of Sweepstakes. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Winners will be notified by telephone and/or email on or about July 29, 2002.

Return of prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. Winners may waive right to receive prizes. Prizes are nonassignable and nontransferable. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Winners are solely responsible for reporting and payment of any taxes on prizes. Winners may be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility/liability and publicity release. Failure to sign and return the affidavit/release within time indicated, or to comply with these Official Rules, may result in Winner's disqualification, forfeiture of prize, and award of prize to an alternate winner. Except where prohibited, participation in Sweepstakes constitutes entrant's consent to publication of his/her name, biographical information and likeness in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation or further compensation.

By participating, entrants agree to be bound by Official Rules and decisions of judges, which are final. By entering, contestants release USA WEEKEND, Gannett Co., Inc., and their respective affiliated companies, directors, officers, employees, representatives, partners and agents from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Sweepstakes.
