Take a quick quiz to find your dream job
Every day is payday when you love your work. But according to a survey by the Conference Board, a non-profit business research organization, only about half of Americans say they are satisfied with their jobs.
We know. No big surprise there.
If you've ever been tempted to drive right past employee parking to avoid yet another gloomy day, try princetonreview.com. The test-prep company's site offers a free online career quiz that can help you decide whether to start drafting that two-week notice. The questionnaire takes only a few minutes. Using your answers, the Princeton Review immediately assesses your strengths and the kind of work that meshes with your skills.
Better yet, a similar free quiz at assessment.com promises a more detailed evaluation. MAPP, the Motivational Appraisal of Personal Potential, asks you to choose which activities you would most and least like to do out of 71 groups of three. (It takes about half an hour to complete.) Your results point to your preferences and talents, suggesting whether you would be a better coach, player or cheerleader, for instance. The site also includes tips on improving your résumé by highlighting your strengths.
