5 things you should know about Jane Seymour
1. Playing evil Genevieve on the WB's "Smallville" is a return to her roots: "I used to play this kind of character a lot. I did "East of Eden" [the 1981 miniseries], in which I was very bad."
|
"I see lots of actresses disfiguring their faces," Seymour says.

2. A Brit, she recently pledged allegiance: "I just became an American citizen. I've been living here since 1976. My entire family [husband and six children] is American."
3. She has standards: "I've been offered more reality shows than I can mention, and my children, too. God forbid it should become 'The Osbournes.' "
4. Her twins, 9, had special godfathers: "Kris' was Chris Reeve; Johnny Cash was John's."
5. Age 54 is prime time: "My problem is I'm so busy, I keep wondering how can I get 48 hours in a day."
Q: Did celebrity chef Bobby Flay and actress Stephanie March finally wed?
Imelda Sutphin, West Haven, Conn.
Yes, in February. The reception meal was superb, of course, including lobster and steak prepared by Daniel Boulud at his New York eatery, Daniel. Flay asked wedding cake guru Margaret Braun to "go to town" on a six-tiered chocolate creation in University of Texas colors for March, a Texas native.

Q: Please tell me what you can about the stars of "Without a Trace," who are so terrific -- and underappreciated at Emmy time.
Carol Silvestro, Savannah, Ga.
We got inside scoop from Enrique Murciano, who tells us that he, Anthony LaPaglia (nickname: Pags) and Marianne Jean-Baptiste (nickname: Camille) bonded through their love of silly pranks. "Marianne is a fabulous mimic and goes into this recovering-drug-addict, FBI-agent character that cracks us up," Murciano says. About LaPaglia: "I'll work with him all day, then spend Saturday at his house with him, his wife and baby." Poppy Montgomery (Pops) is mostly serious, "but when I meet her after work, those nights usually get crazy." Eric Close is married with two daughters, "but we'll do our sushi lunches. I have a good time with him, too."

Penelope Cruz, 31, is as fiery as she is beautiful. When she talks, her hands fly constantly. When her dog nips her, she scolds, then hugs him close. She got to show some of that spirit in the current movie "Sahara," with boyfriend Matthew McConaughey. She'll show more in "Bandidas," a Mexican-set western she made with her pal Salma Hayek. "We rob banks and give the money to the poor," Cruz says. "A couple of scenes are an homage to 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.' "

Q: What has Evanescence been up to? Do they have a new album?
Jessica Lee, Lisbon, N.D.
One's in the works. The band is writing a follow-up to 2003's "Fallen"; we're told they are making progress. The group's second CD will no doubt have a different sound, with singer-songwriter-pianist Amy Lee, 23 (who dates Seether's frontman, Shaun Morgan), taking greater control of the band. Lee also will write and record the theme song to Disney's "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," due Dec. 9.
Q: Is Bruce Springsteen touring this year?
Alex Lakey, Blue Springs, Mo.
Yes. The Boss, 55, is promoting his new solo album, "Devils & Dust." He wraps up a month of concerts with one in Boston this weekend, then heads to Europe for a month. He'll play more U.S. dates later this year.
