Who's News

Why don't we see pictures of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban out with her children, who often are photographed with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes? Does Cruise have custody of them?
Carla Hylton, Middletown, Del.

Kidman and Cruise have shared custody of daughter Isabella, 13, and son Connor, 11. And we're told that Kidman sees plenty of her children, she just chooses to keep their outings as private as possible.

To land even one TV series shot on a beach is a dream come true, but two? That's what happened to former "Baywatch" lifeguard David Chokachi, now starring in "Beyond the Break" for N network. Chokachi, 38, grew up swimming and sailing in Plymouth, Mass., but he learned to ride the waves during "Baywatch." Now he's playing a pro surfer-turned-instructor, and it's a job that suits him well. He even spends lunch breaks in the waves. Chokachi, who was single during "Baywatch," is married to events planner Susan Brubaker. When we ask about plans for kids, he tells us, "Everyone says the first step is to get a dog," which they did.

"CSI: New York's" Gary Sinise co-hosts the National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, D.C., Sunday, which makes sense when you know how much he does for U.S. soldiers. We spoke last month as he was preparing to leave for Afghanistan on a USO tour (he has done 18) and attend a New York fundraiser for the disabled veteran's memorial, "which we will get," he says firmly. Then there's Operation Iraqi Children, which he founded with writer Laura Hillenbrand. "The school supplies we send to Iraqi children help support the troops. These are basic things -- pencils, pens, notebook paper -- for troops to take when they go all over the country. So many kids in that part of the world are being raised to hate us," says Sinise, 51. Where did Army Pfc. Jessica Lynch, who was so severely wounded in Iraq in 2003, end up?
C. Marsh, Athens, Ga.

We found her at West Virginia University majoring in broadcast journalism. Lynch, 23, is no longer engaged to a fellow soldier, and although she once planned to teach, she tells us journalism interests her now, "because I have so much experience with the media." Forget reporting from Iraq, though. Her physical injuries are a daily reminder of her experience there.

Fans of ABC's "Lost" will recognize Emilie de Ravin, the only plane-crash survivor to have given birth on the island. Curiously, she also played pregnant on the WB series "Roswell" (although she was an alien). De Ravin, 24, who left Australia for Hollywood in 1999, isn't ready for a baby in real life, but she's engaged to actor Josh Janowicz and "may be married by the end of this year." Meanwhile, she is tending to her career. Her film "The Hills Have Eyes" opened in March; another, Brick, has been opening slowly around the country.

Kathleen Turner dropped out of the Hollywood limelight soon after doing several films with Michael Douglas ("Romancing the Stone," "The War of the Roses"). What happened to her?
Kathy Fields, Bradenton, Fla.

Turner, 51, checked herself into rehab for alcoholism in 2002, although her movie career wasn't doing so well before that. She has done some praiseworthy stage work and a few quirky TV roles, and this summer you may hear her trademark sultry voice again in Robert Zemeckis' "Monster House," an animated horror adventure due out July 21.

Please give me the stats on gorgeous actor Clive Owen, who has been on screen quite a bit in the last two years. Single? Married? Does he live abroad or in the States?
Rose Ryan, Bronx, New York

He's English, a native of Coventry; he lives in London with his wife, actress Sarah-Jane Fenton, and young daughters Hannah and Eve. Next up for Owen: He'll star in sci-fi thriller "Children of Men" with Julianne Moore.
