Shannen Doherty knows a thing or two about breakups. After two failed marriages and a few broken engagements, the former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star has experienced many ways to exit relationships. As the host of Oxygen's "Breaking Up" with Shannen Doherty, debuting Tuesday, she will mediate other people's splits from bosses, mates and friends. "I can relate," Doherty, 35, says. At first she hesitated to take the job because it doesn't involve acting. But then she says she realized "we were going to help people out of situations they didn't need to be in."
Is that Dana Delany in ads for an arthritis drug?
Nancy Hamrick, Sparks, Nev.
No. But Delany is busy on two TV shows, NBC's "Kidnapped," in which she plays the mother of an abducted teen, and a drama with writer Tom Fontana ("Homicide") that they want to sell to cable. "I have high hopes," says Delany, 50. A New Yorker by birth, Delany, who now lives in L.A., tells us that she likes working on "Kidnapped" in NYC. "I just like to walk the streets. You see something new on every corner."

Cruise had no problem promoting Katie Holmes' pregnancy to sell movie
tickets. So why withhold baby pictures for months after the birth?
Javelin Elliott, Eden Prairie, Minn.
There have been lots of wild theories on the Internet, among them a faked pregnancy and false birth certificate. But baby Suri's absence from the public eye probably has to do with Cruise's Scientology beliefs. Following a "silent birth," the baby may be living in a quiet environment. And, let me tell you, celebrity photo shoots are anything but quiet. At press time, Cruise and Holmes had no timetable for unveiling their daughter. But family friends Leah Remini and Jada Pinkett Smith have called Suri "gorgeous."
John Travolta is a pilot and owner of several planes, but I want to know if he flies them without a professional pilot by his side. I heard that he's not qualified.
Mike Reeves, Martinez, Ga.
Travolta, 52, is qualified to fly any plane, even commercial airliners such as Boeing 747s. He's a veteran pilot with 5,000 flight hours to his credit. Travolta has been a nut about flying since childhood, so he would love to work for an airline. But, of course, his day job pays oh-so-much better.
Is ABC's Claire Shipman married to "Time" magazine's Jay Carney?
Carol Modrak Hayward, Wis.
Yes. And the couple will celebrate their eighth anniversary next month. They started dating in 1996, after both began covering the Clinton White House. Today they have two kids: Hugo James, 4, and Della Claire, 1. How do they manage a family? With help from a great nanny, Shipman says, plus, "We let a lot fall through the cracks."
Is Cody Kasch, of "Desperate Housewives," related to actor Max Kasch?
Emica Meiryl, Castro Valley, Calif.
They're brothers. Max is 20, and Cody turns 19 Monday. Along with brother Dylan, 16, they consider themselves best friends. "We know how to meet each other in the middle," Cody says. The trio also has a band, and Cody, who's not featured on "Housewives" this coming season, says he wants to concentrate on music for a while.

Brad Garrett doesn't expect that everybody will love him. In fact, he says, most people "just want to be my friend." Right now, though, the former Everybody Loves Raymond star needs everybody, friend or not, to watch his new Fox sitcom, "'Til Death," making its debut Sept. 7. "I wanted to do a character very different from Raymond's Robert but very similar to myself," says Garrett, 46, who, like his new character, is married. The real Garrett has kids, too -- Max, 7, and Hope, 6 -- and he wants to go home to them each night. "When I became a dad, I went, 'This is what I'm supposed to do.' "
