Peter Krause is my TV crush. I've loved watching him since he played Casey McCall on ABC's "Sports Night," and I never missed "Six Feet Under." "I'm fortunate in that I've had a chance to do it all, from sketch comedy on TV toa cutting-edge half-hour such as 'Sports Night' to Broadway," Krause, 41, tells me. "I look back at it, and I'm not sure how I got where I am now." Which is in a new movie, "Civic Duty," a look at the insidious ways in which society and individuals have changed since Sept. 11, 2001. Krause plays Terry Allen, a regular guy who loses his job and has time at home. Obsessed about a Middle Eastern man who moves in next door, Allen contacts the FBI about "suspicious" behavior, and things don't go well from there.

In "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place" and "Kissing Jessica Stein," Jennifer Westfeldt toured the dating landscape. But in ABC's "Notes from the Underbelly," she traverses new territory: pregnancy and parenthood. Westfeldt, 36, plays expectant mother Lauren, navigating an ocean of advice and impending pressures. "It made sense for me to do this role," she says. "I'm terrified of the notion of having a kid and feel completely unready." To prepare for the role, she talked to friends in the midst of motherhood. "They echoed what the show deals with in how much pressure they feel from those Miss Perfect moms and people saying, 'If you don't do it this way, you're a monster.' " So has the experience assuaged any of her baby fears? "It scared me off even more," Westfeldt says. The more I worked on the show, the more I was like, 'Women are amazing.

John Edwards will continue his presidential campaign even though wife Elizabeth has been diagnosed with a return of breast cancer. How will they do it? Will she cut back on travel? Will their children travel with her?
Bill True, Utica, N.Y.

They plan to make as few accommodations for Elizabeth's illness as possible, hoping for the best. They say they will take their two youngest kids, Emma Claire, 9, and Jack, 6, with them when they travel because they believe the children can benefit from the experience. Their decision has prompted talk around the nation about his ambition and her sacrifice, but Elizabeth, 57, says she wants a full life and time with family. It sounds as if she will get that.

NBC irritated me by moving "Friday Night Lights" all around. I particularly like actress Connie Britton. What other work is in her background?
Gerry Foley, St. Louis Park, Minn.

Britton's résumé is dotted with both comedy, such as "Spin City" with Michael J. Fox, and drama, including "The Brothers McMullen" and the original "FNL" movie. She tells me "a lot of training, great acting teachers and working in the theater, where you do everything," made her the actress she is today. As a coach's wife, opposite Kyle Chandler, she uses humor because "that's my experience with women in the South. They keep it light," says Britton, 39, who was raised in Virginia. You aren't alone in your irritation at the "FNL" scheduling. Britton says, "My dad will call and tell me his friends are really mad because the show isn't on."

I used to watch Dan Abrams on MSNBC's "The Abrams Report" almost every day, but I haven't seen him lately. Where is he?
Ronie Fisher, St. Louis Park, Minn.

After getting a huge promotion last summer, Abrams is now the general manager of MSNBC, running the operation. He couldn't do both the daily show and his new job -- although, as he told fans on his blog, he did consider it.

Matthew Rhys, 32, has dangled between being an unknown player and a star. But things look bright now, thanks to his role as Kevin Walker, Sally Field's gay son on ABC's "Brothers & Sisters." A Wales native who loves a good rugby match, Rhys jokes that during Hollywood's annual pilot season, he and his countrymen come to California "in a vain attempt to try and poach jobs from Americans. But we end up with a suntan and no money, so we go home." There was no going home this time for Rhys: ABC picked up the show for next season, which means he must retain an American accent. Words like "murderer" throw him off, he says. "I had it the other day, and I was, like, 'Can I change it to killer?' "
