Target your hips with these moves
Lunge and squat your way to a sleek physique.
By Jorge Cruise
Everyone knows this old saying: "A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips." If you want to make that lifetime a little shorter, you can slim your hips and get rid of any snugness in your pants with these great, fun moves that help tone and tighten.
Exercise 1: Side Lunge
1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, then step your right leg about 2 feet to the side in a lunging motion. Keep your back straight and your chest upright.
2. Stop when your leg is at a 90-degree angle; don't let your knee drift over your toes. Return to the starting position, then repeat on the other side.
Exercise 2: Chair Squat
1. Stand in front of a chair with your feet hip-width apart. Cross your arms, keeping your back straight and your abs tight.
2. Squat down slowly, as if you were about to sit in the chair, stopping about 2 inches above it. Push through your heels as you stand and return to the starting position.
Repeat each of these exercises for 12 to 14 reps (alternating legs on the side lunge).
