If Hillary Clinton is elected president, what will we call her husband? First man, first husband, former president or just plain Bill?
Sandy Domeier, Boise

The rational unofficial title for Bill Clinton would be "first gentleman," probably shortened to "first gent," says Carl Sferrazza Anthony, consulting historian to the National First Ladies' Library. ("First lady" is not an official title, either; it evolved over 100 years.) If elected, she would be Madame President, and he would still be Mr. President. If introduced together, she, as sitting president, would come first, so they would be President Clinton and former President Clinton.

We asked model Tyson Beckford, 37, nowco-hosting Bravo's "Make Me a Supermodel," for five items a fashionable man must have. Read on:

1. A tailored suit. You can purchase an off-the-rack suit, Beckford says, and take it to a good tailor.
2. A nice set of dress shirts. "Don't be afraid of pink," Beckford says. "Women love my pink dress shirts."
3. Black leather loafers to dress up with a suit or wear with jeans and a blazer.
4. A black or navy blue velvet blazer. "I'm still on the lookout for it," Beckford says. (Actually, he loves one from Ralph Lauren Purple Label, but balks at its high cost.)
5. A good dress coat. His is camel. It goes with everything. But navy blue or black is fine, too: "Just make sure it's long enough to cover your sports coat."

Rachel Bilson is in the new sci-fi action movie "Jumper," and she's excited. "You can't really be nervous," says the actress, 26, who did many of her own stunts. "You have to trust in the work." So far, Bilson's work has been A-plus. She parlayed her break as spoiled rich kid Summer Roberts on "The O.C." into a couple of good movie roles and some smart TV work -- in particular, this season's arc on the new series "Chuck." She's looking for her next move and tells me: "You make your own path." On hers, she plans to stay clothed. "I have my own morals. I know a lot of successful actresses who don't do nudity."

Ricki Lake is on top of the world. The actress and former talk show host has produced her first documentary, "The Business of Being Born," now playing around the country. "I know that I have had nine lives in this business," says Lake, 39, and the mother of two sons. The success of her film about childbirth in America -- it stemmed from her own stressful birthing experience with older son Milo -- had an overwhelming effect on her. "Something has taken place in me," Lake confides in me. "I have come to a place where I really like who I am. I like what I'm doing with my life."

Our family was so happy to see the return of "Medium" on NBC. Will it continue through the rest of the season?
Lois McKinney, Janesville, Wis.

It has been an unpredictable year, Lois, but barring unforeseen circumstances, "Medium" -- starring the terrific Patricia Arquette -- should run through March.

Alison Krauss' hit "Simple Love" is about her parents. Are they still living?
Z.B. Tinch, Muncie, Ind.

Yes. But Krauss tells us the song is not about her folks; it was written by Sarah Siskind, who told Krauss it's not a true story, but one she wished were true. Says Krauss: "To imagine yourself not having regret in that area of your life ... and, as a woman, to find a man who would selflessly love you and your children, it's just every little girl's dream."
