Livestrong goes digital
When it comes to pursuing your health and fitness goals, there are few better people to have on your side than Lance Armstrong. The cancer survivor and seven-time Tour de France winner has teamed up with Demand Media to create livestrong.com, a healthy lifestyle networking site that you can go to for friends and medical info.
"We wanted to provide a 360-degree view on medical and health topics," says Joe Perez, one of the Demand Media executives behind livestrong.com. "We [also] give people the tools so they can help themselves first, then help others."
Site users can create profiles, chat on message boards and find articles on everything from surfing to managing type 2 diabetes.
