Win big on hotel deals in Las Vegas
Sin City hotel rates are getting cheaper, thanks to the slow economy.
Here's where to find the jackpots (rates subject to change):
Vegas.com. Midweek deals offer the best bang. Example: For a three-night stay in late August, average rates at Circus Circus were $41.94 a night, while Paris Las Vegas was $126.90 and Caesars Palace was $154.21. The site lets you compare prices over a range of days to secure the best hotel/air deals. Not only do airfares differ, but occupancy of Las Vegas hotels waxes and wanes with conventions. Rates vary enough that it pays to be flexible. Take a three-night air/hotel package to Planet Hollywood from Charlotte, N.C.: Leaving on Aug. 24, it costs $766.30 per person; go a day earlier and it drops to $588.88.
VisitLasVegas.com. Check the "special offers" area of this site for hotel deals. A recent listing: Boulder Station from $49.99 a night.
Hotel websites. Even the tony Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas is offering a third night free through Jan. 6, 2009. And the five-star Bellagio has slow days in September when you can grab a room for $159.
