Suze Orman links your wallet and weight
Suze Orman is making a plea to Americans: Be honest. "Health is related to wealth," says the personal finance expert, who believes that people who hide their financial troubles from loved ones are likely to gain weight. And as the debt goes up, so can the weight.
"If you hold on to a lie, you hold on to things that keep you from being as healthy and as wealthy as you're meant to be," she tells me.
When it comes to her own wellness, Orman believes the body is a temple.
"Everything I put into my body, I make sure it is pure," she says. "I do love McDonald's and Taco Bell, but those are rare treats."
Exercising this sort of control is a key to happiness, says the author of "2009 Action Plan." To help create control and ensure you are honest with yourself, keep track of your spending and eating, Orman says: "This will help you make an accurate assessment of where you may need to cut back."
