EVERETT POTTER

Run, tourist, run

Take a tour while you run.

The next time you're visiting a city and want to head out for a run, why not do it with a guide?

City Running Tours offers guided tours that combine running and sightseeing in Austin; Charleston, S.C.; Chicago; New York; San Diego; and Washington, D.C. You pick the distance and the sights you'd like to visit; the company provides the guide and itinerary, at a cost of $60 per person for the first 6 miles, then $6 for each subsequent mile.

To make running the focus of your vacation, contact Running Away, which offers running vacations in Colorado, California's wine country, New York City, the Berkshires of Massachusetts, South Florida and Florida's Gulf Coast. A five-day trip to the Berkshires during fall foliage season includes your hotel, most meals, a running guide, transportation and sightseeing tours for $1,775 per person (double occupancy).
