Live large: Rent a condo for vacation
The cost is similar to a hotel, but you get a money-saving kitchen.
|
There has probably never been a better time to find a great deal on a rental condo. Owners are cutting prices, plus a condo can offer savings over a compa-rable hotel room. With most condos, you get a living room, multiple bedrooms and a kitchen, which allows you to save on the cost of eating out.
How to find one:
1. Check online at sites such as PickPackGo.com and Zonder.com to find professionally managed rental properties. Other sites, like HomeAway.com and its subsidiaries, offer a mix of managed and personally owned properties. If you want to skip the middle man and deal directly with a homeowner, check out VRBO.com.
2. Search for a time share. They often are put up for rent at MyResortNetwork.com and RedWeek.com.
As with any rental, be sure to protect yourself when reserving the property. Pay with a credit card or via PayPal. That will allow you to get your money back in case something goes wrong.
