When are consumers guaranteed their money back on a purchase?
It's entirely up to the retailer: Each seller can set its own policies on refunds and exchanges.
Some states, such as California, require the retailer to post its refund policy for customers to see if it doesn't give full cash or credit refunds or equal exchanges for items that are returned within seven days with a receipt.
