Where is Emmy Rossum from "The Phantom of the Opera" and "Poseidon?" Does she act anymore?
Mary Anne Theriault, Commerce, Mich.
Yes. It's just that Rossum's love life is getting way more attention than her career. She split with her sort-of-secret husband, music producer Justin Siegel, whom she wed in 2008. Recently, Rossum, 23, has been seen with Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz, 45. She has a new movie, "Dare," opening in select cities Nov. 13 and co-starring Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights).

Please settle a bet I have with a customer about James Brolin's age. I say he's about 65; my customer believes Brolin is in his late 50s.
Rose Marie Kasten, West Bend, Wis.
The customer is always right, as you know, except in this case. Brolin is 69; he will be 70 next July, and I'll bet wife (and legendary performer) Barbra Streisand, 67, will make the most of that milestone birthday.

Are Sir Laurence Olivier's children still alive?
Brooke Andrews, Chandler, Ariz.
Yes. All four of the Oscar winner's children, now ages 43 to 73, worked in the arts at some point. Tarquin is his son with first wife Jill Esmond. His three with third wife Joan Plowright are Richard, 47, Tamsin, 46, and Julie-Kate, 43. He and second wife Vivien Leigh had no kids. Olivier died in 1989 at age 82.

Tell me about the actress who plays Dr. Cameron on "House."
Ron Baughman, Garnet Valley, Pa.
You mean Jennifer Morrison, 30, a Chicago native, who "just always knew" she wanted to be an actress. "My parents are both music teachers," she tells us. "I would go to high school musicals -- my dad directed the pit orchestra -- and we'd get dressed up. Those nights felt very special." She may not feel so sentimental about "House." She's reportedly being written out of the show, and her last episode will be this month. That may leave her with more time for a new pursuit: golf. "Every once in a while, you get a great shot," Morrison says. "It keeps you hooked, until your next great one."

Who's hot in Hollywood
Michael Cudlitz was Ben McKenzie's partner in the recently canceled NBC drama "Southland" and Bruce Willis' nemesis in the sci-fi movie "Surrogates." You've seen him before in a ton of TV, from "Growing Pains" (yes, really, two episodes) to "Prison Break" and "Lost." "I always said I wanted a career like Brian Dennehy or J.T. Walsh," says Cudlitz, 44, citing two great character actors. Off-screen, Cudlitz is married with 12-year-old twins ... Ann and Nancy Wilson, the sisters of the rock band Heart, are celebrating 30 years since their hit album "Dog & Butterfly" charted by releasing a charming kids' book of the same title and a CD of acoustic instrumentals by Nancy, 56, called "Baby Guitars." The CD is for babies to fall asleep to, but Nancy hears that other people play it for dinner music. Ann, 59, recalls writing the song "Dog & Butterfly": "I looked out and saw a dog chasing a butterfly. She kept falling down and rolling around. It made sense to me as a metaphor."
