-- British investigators found that low intakes of vitamin E increase the risk of gallstones. (Worthington, H.V., et. al Nutrition 1997 Feb: 13(2): 118-27.)
-- The chances of developing cataracts was 50 percent lower in people taking vitamin E and C, reported researchers at the University of Western Ontario. (Robertson, JM, Am J Clin Nutr 1991 Jan; 53(1 Suppl):346S-351S)
-- Taking 400 IU of vitamin E and 500 milligrams of vitamin C helped asthmatic adults breathe more easily, according to University of Washington researchers. (American Lung Association/ American Thoracic Society Int. conference in San Francisco, May 1997)
-- The death rate from all causes was 34 percent lower in older people taking vitamin E supplements, according to National Institute on Aging research. (Am J Clin Nutr 1996 Aug; 64 (2): 190-6)
