Test your male
or female "mental map"
When it comes to spatial abilities, evolutionary theorists believe
that men, on average, have brains better suited to forming "mental
maps" than women do, and that women, on average, have brains better
suited to tracking objects.
Before dismissing this as sexist hogwash, take this test with
a member of the opposite sex. Though counterexamples abound, men
tend to have an easier time with the mental rotations of objects--
and women tend to remember objects better in this test.
Test: Study this box carefully for 1 minute. Then follow
the link below to see the second box and further instructions.
NOTE: For best results use Internet Explorer 3+ or Netscape 3+
version of a browser. Or print this page to take the test if you
do not have either browser version.
