My favorite
things: Kellie Martin
ellie
Martin, ER's hapless Lucy Knight, got her role on TV's No.
1 show without an audition. But Martin, 23, had to leave Yale. "My
agents were, like, 'Girlfriend, get on a plane, a train. Just get
here.' " The newly engaged Martin shares some of her favorites.
ER moment: "The kiss on the cheek every morning
from George Clooney [the ex-Dr. Doug Ross]. I miss that."
Gender moment: "I love getting away with a lot of stuff
[laughs]. You know, like when you're pulled over by a cop. 'Oh,
was I going fast? So sorry, officer. I have to go to the bathroom
and I had to get home.' ''
Engagement moment: "I was on a plane and I couldn't stop
staring at my ring. I never had any kind of diamond. He picked it
out. If he had asked me, I would have said, 'Get a smaller one.'
He's a law student!"
TV character: "I love getting to be goofy and funny for
a change. It's so much easier to go to work and laugh. I spent two
years on Life Goes On crying my eyes out."
ER gaffe: "I walked right out of my clogs [in front of
Clooney and Anthony Edwards], fell right on my face, in the middle
of my dialogue."
