USA WEEKEND's 12th Annual Teen Survey winners

Four students were chosen for special honors from the nearly 200,000 who took the survey.
Special Report: Teens & Money

Disney trip winner

Andrea Brambrink, 14, an eighth-grade honor student at St. Francis (Minn.) Junior High, and her family were flown by USA WEEKEND to Orlando, Fla., for a weekend at Walt Disney World and the Disney sports complex.

Teen editors

Ryan Sylvester, 18, a senior at Gunnison (Colo.) High School, and Tamika Hunter, 14, a ninth-grader at Sebastian River High School in Vero Beach, Fla., spent two days in our Arlington, Va., offices helping to produce this special report. Ryan, an honor student, is a cartoonist and writer for his school newspaper, a student council member and a varsity athlete. Tamika is an honor student, a junior varsity basketball player and a member of TRUTH, an anti-smoking student group.

Channel One anchor

Jesus Gonzalez, 18, a senior at Harlingen (Texas) High School, was chosen to fly to Los Angeles and announce the teen survey results on a Channel One News program that was scheduled to air in 12,000 schools last week.

MONEY TIPS FROM OUR TEEN EDITORS:

Don't date someone with expensive tastes.

Put spending money in a "DOs" envelope, savings in a "DON'Ts" envelope.

Ask your parents about handling money. You can learn from their mistakes instead of your own.

Look for the magazine's 13th Annual Teen Survey, on Teens & the Future, next fall.
