Who's hot in Hollywood

"Friday Night Lights" star Adrianne Palicki, 26, is ready for her big-screen close-up: The Toledo, Ohio, native plays a waitress who's pregnant with the savior of mankind in the horror film "Legion," out Jan. 22, and she'll be the female lead in a "Red Dawn" remake later this year. Her parents fostered creativity early. "I was going to school to be a painter, and I decided not to waste the money to do something I didn't really want to do," she says. "I wanted to act." . . . Longtime ABC and "20/20" correspondent John Stossel recently premiered his new hour-long weekly news show, Stossel, airing Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox Business. He'll also be seen on Fox News regularly. And he's writing a daily blog for foxbusiness.com. "I didn't think I would enjoy it," Stossel, 62, says. "But the discipline of getting up in my pajamas and reading what someone suggests to me and being forced to think and write every morning is both a burden and a joy."

Tell me about "Supernatural" stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki.

Laurie Reis, Peoria, Ariz.

They are like brothers on screen and off, says "Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke: "They're just two boys from Texas who have very similar worldviews." Both got their starts on WB shows (Ackles, 31, on "Dawson's Creek" and "Smallville;" Padalecki, 27, on "Gilmore Girls"), but they came into their own playing "Supernatural"'s demon-hunting Winchester brothers. The show returns Jan. 21.

Is the boy who played David on "Roseanne" now on "The Big Bang Theory?" My husband and I have a bet on it.

Sherri Copple, Berthoud, Colo.

Yes, "Big Bang" star Johnny Galecki, 34, played David Healy on "Roseanne" from 1992 to 1997. Now he stars as experimental physicist Leonard Hofstadter on "Big Bang," one of CBS' highest rated sitcoms. Although his current character dates the not-so-nerdy blonde Penny (Kaley Cuoco), on several "Bang" episodes Galecki has been reunited with one of his former costars, Sara Gilbert, who played his love interest, Darlene, on "Roseanne."

When will "The Tudors" and "Lost" return to TV?

Julie Briggs, Rogersville, Tenn.

Showtime's "The Tudors" returns for its fourth and final season April 11. And the sixth and final season of ABC's hit "Lost" premieres Feb. 2. Nestor Carbonell, 42, who plays "Lost"'s enigmatic and seemingly ageless Richard Alpert, looks forward to the show's mysteries being solved. The producers have never shared his character's background, so "I make it up every week," Carbonell says. "I do a back story for myself, and just when I think I've figured the character out, I'll open up the script for the next week's episode and be like, 'I was so off base.' "

What does TMZ stand for?

Joseph Campanaro, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

The "TMZ" in TMZ.com, the popular celebrity news website launched in 2005, is short for "30-mile zone." It refers to the entertainment industry's "studio zone" in Los Angeles.
