Who's hot in Hollywood
British actress Alice Eve plays the attractive object of a nerdy guy's affection in the comedy She's Out of My League, in theaters March 12. It's a far cry from her first acting role: as a drunk man in Les Misérables when she was 10. How did she get inspired for such a part? “At 10, you don't know anything, so you go: ‘Yeah, I can do that. Sure, why not?' ” says Eve, 28, who appears in this summer's Sex and the City sequel. “My mom said it was very funny.” ... Dax Shepard stars in the new NBC drama Parenthood, based on the 1989 film. Are the TV and movie characters similar? “They're the orangutan to the chimpanzee. They definitely have a shared DNA,” Shepard, 35, says. The actor, who's newly engaged to actress Kristen Bell, says he'd like to be a father someday: “Oh, I would love, love, love to have kids.”
Did George Clooney wear eyeliner in Up in the Air? How can you improve on perfection?
Muriel C. Thielen, Tallahassee
Clooney, 48, went au naturel for his role as corporate downsizer Ryan Bingham in Air, director Jason Reitman says. “He wears zero makeup,” says Reitman, whose film is one of 10 nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. “One of the joys of working with him is, basically, he arrives on set, throws on a suit, literally brushes his hair once and is acting. He is one of the few actors who has made the conscious decision to age gracefully and just does not wear makeup — at all.”

Who is the boy who plays Brick in the new ABC comedy The Middle?
Dianne Mancuso, Coram, N.Y.
That's Atticus Shaffer, and when we chat with him, he sounds like many 11-year-olds who love reading, building with Legos and anything Star Wars. Home-schooled and now tutored on the set, the seventh-grader hopes to go to college and study directing at the University of Southern California, like his idol, George Lucas. “I've never met him,” Atticus says. “But I'm dying to.”
What's the word on Kevin Skinner, the America's Got Talent $1 million winner?
B. Whitted, Kempner, Texas
“It's been a really interesting trip,” says Skinner, 36, the musician and former chicken catcher from Mayfield, Ky., who won the 2009 season of NBC's America's Got Talent. He tells us he decided to take the money “over the long term” — $25,000 a year for 40 years. After he was crowned in September, Skinner and the other Talent finalists spent several months on the road performing. Now, “fans are wanting an album,” Skinner says, and he plans to deliver. He hasn't decided on a title yet, but a release date may be coming soon: “We're shooting for the end of March.”
