To lose weight, you should cut calories and exercise more. But you also should make some simple changes at home. People who adopted healthy habits — enlisting the support of friends and family, weighing regularly, eating from smaller plates and watching less TV — lost more weight than those who didn't, according to a study by Amy Gorin, assistant professor of psychology at the University of Connecticut.
