    Who's Hot in Hollywood

As evil henchman Sir Godfrey, British actor Mark Strong causes trouble for Russell Crowe's famed archer in Robin Hood, in theaters May 14. As a kid, Strong loved Errol Flynn's take on the character. "That was the first time I was aware of the whole derring-do of that incarnation of Robin Hood," says Strong, 46, who has two boys, 5 and 2½. "The cheeky incarnation was what I remember. Of course, this one is much grittier."

Former model and MTV VJ Daisy Fuentes is adding author to her resume.Unforgettable You: Master the Elements of Style, Spirituality and True Beauty, due out Tuesday, is an advice book that covers everything from cellphone etiquette to dating strategies to fashion tips. "Women have lost a lot of their sophistication and self-respect when they're out," says Fuentes, 43. "It's not just the young girls. Oftentimes, [their] moms are my age, and they're just as crude."

What is President Jimmy Carter's daughter, Amy Carter, doing these days?

    J. Harton, Hookerton, N.C.

Carter, 42, has built a private life in Atlanta with her second husband, interactive designer Jay Kelly, and her son from her first marriage, Hugo, 10. She's on the advisory board of the Carter Center, the human-rights and diplomacy center established by her father. The center describes her as “an artist and parent.” Carter, who has a master's degree in art history from Tulane, has illustrated two of her father's books: The Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer and Christmas in Plains: Memories.

To whom is Whoopi Goldberg referring when she talks about her better half on The View?

    Mariellen Jackson, Atlanta

Goldberg's lips are sealed. She has not identified her mystery better half, even when asked by Barbara Walters, her boss on The View. In an interview on Larry King Live, the CNN host asked Goldberg about her mystery man after showing a clip of her refusing to discuss him with Walters. When pressed by King, Goldberg, 54, replied: “I have a wonderful man in my life who I like and care for and love very much. And it is his express desire not to be brought out into the public.”

Could you tell me more about the pin Gary Sinise wears on CSI:NY?

    Kristie Delaney, Portland, Ind.

The 55-year-old actor's character, Detective Mac Taylor, is at the top of his game. The show's executive story editor tells us the pin is presented to a detective after doing a really great job (for example, cracking a big case or solving a murder). The act itself is called getting “pinned.”

Did Cokie Roberts recover from breast cancer?

    Sarah Clayton, Denver

Diagnosed in 2002, Roberts, 66, is cancer-free. “I'm feeling better than I have any right to at this age and stage,” the grandmother of six and a longtime USA WEEKEND contributing editor tells us. Roberts is now working on her fifth and sixth books: a Passover guide for mixed marriages, and a look at women during the mid-19th century. “Everyone just thinks they were sitting around knitting,” Roberts tells us. “But they were doing lots of interesting stuff, too.”
