USA WEEKEND's Make A Difference Day is the nation's largest day of service. Last Oct. 23 — the 20th Make A Difference Day — more than 3 million Americans volunteered to help an estimated 20 million people in need of food, clothing, shelter, care and love.
This week we celebrate 10 efforts selected for national awards. Each will receive a $10,000 charitable donation from Newman's Own at a luncheon this Thursday, April 14, in Washington, D.C. USA WEEKEND will be tweeting and posting video from the event which features Cokie Roberts and Darius Rucker.
