The flapper will shimmy into stores this spring.

Fringe, pleats and drop waists from the Roaring ’20s cut a rug at fall fashion shows (including Ralph Lauren, below).“It’s a fantastic era to go to when people need a pick-me-up. It was such a positive period for women, who were liberated from corsets,” says Jamie Ross, creative director of industry forecaster The Doneger Group.

“Art-deco jewelry, burnished metallics, headpieces and footwear totally suit the holidays and are in stores,” says JCPenney trend director Cyndie Washburn-Nester.

Still, don’t go full-flapper, she warns. Add but one: JewelMint crystal bracelet, Lulu NYC’s net-feather forehead band or Nicole by Nicole Miller’s round-toe Mary Janes. “The look can be so chic!”
