What does Randy Jackson love about American Idol? “Out of thousands, we chose them and look at how far they’ve come,” says the lone, original ‘Idol’ judge, 55. “It’s proof [that] what we set out to do on the show works: To find some superstar talent.”

Co-judge: “It was our first ever, when Simon, Paula, Ryan and I started ‘Idol.’ We never thought it would become the big show it is,” says the Baton Rouge, La., native. “We started a revolution, now you’ve got X-Factor, The Voice, all these shows that have followed. We were the first. We started a revolution.”
Contestant: “Probably Kelly [Clarkson] is one of my favorites, because she was our first winner. She’s gone on to such great success and great things in her life. I love Carrie [Underwood]. I love Fantasia [Barrino]. I love Jennifer Hudson. I love Chris Daughtry. I love this kid from last year: he sold over a million records, Scotty McCreery. I’m just proud of all of them.”
New music: “Watch out for the next Mariah Carey record [he’s producing], it’s going to be hot, super hot,” says Jackson.
Other reality show: America’s Best Dance Crew. “I think it says in the title: Randy Jackson presents.”
Vacation spot: The beach. “The water relaxes me.”
Way to unwind: “I’ve been meditating for years. I love yoga, Bikram; I like the whole sweating it all out. I like Kundalini. I want to practice more. That’s one of my goals I’m setting in the Taking Diabetes to Heart program.”
Always in my fridge: Coconut Water. “Zico dark chocolate is my favorite right now.”
Accessory: Watches; he has his own line coming out.
Secret crush: “Myself. I’m so hot,” jokes Jackson.
