Almonds are packed with nutrients. Seamus Mullen, author of Hero Food: How Cooking With Delicious Things Can Make Us Feel Better, shares ways to add them to your diet.
Go fresh, if you can. Mullen swears by the taste of fresh almonds, but unless you live in California, finding them will be difficult. Check markets: Fresh ones will be there if you’re lucky. Dried and roasted almonds are easy to find at the grocery store.
Think out of the box. Toast, grind or soak almonds to add variety to recipes. Mullen enjoys them in salads, mixed in smoothies, on roasted veggies or atop ice cream.
Grab and go. There’s nothing wrong with simply snacking on whole almonds. Grab a pack for the office, car or gym and enjoy the good nutrients.
