Debbie Meehan of Massapequa, N.Y., has found a smart way extend the life of a birthday party décor. “I have a helpful tip. Whenever anyone in my family gets balloons, I reuse the pretty ribbons that they are tied to,” she says. After the balloons deflate, “I cut the ribbons close to the knot and save it to use as curling ribbon to decorate gift bags or packages. ... I never have to buy spools of ribbons!”
So next time you’re wrapping a present, put your old balloon ribbon back to work!
