How to get involved
Make A Difference Day is a unique program that inspires
and rewards volunteers. Everyone who helps others on October 25, 2008 and sends in an entry form is eligible for an award and a cash donation to a charitable cause.
In addition, every award recipient will appear in USA WEEKEND Magazine and on makeadifferenceday.com.
1. Ask what's needed and get ideas.
2. Tell others and round-up help.
3. Do it on the fourth Saturday in Oct.
4. Send your entry form.
5. Put awards and honors to work.
Ask what your community
needs.
Look around your community. Are people hungry, homeless or ill? Are parks or schools dirty or neglected? No matter where
you live, there's a need nearby. And on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008,
the next Make A Difference Day, millions of Americans are expected
to roll up their sleeves to help others. You can act alone or enlist
your friends, family and co-workers. Thousands of people across
the community can band together. Maybe we can help you to help others.
Explore this Web site for project ideas and free team-building guides or call the
Make A Difference Day Hot Line, 1-800-416-3824, for information.
