Responsibilities:
As an Ad Sales Executive at USA WEEKEND Magazine, you will be responsible for the service and growth of ad revenue for accounts in New York City and an outside territory. Washington DC, MD, VA, SC or NC client contacts a plus. You will be present at both the client and agency level, while building your revenue base, selling ads, establishing strong business relationships, and increasing overall awareness of the magazine in the marketplace. You will be responsible for tracking competition, developing and packaging integrated programs, to create big ideas and win big business!
Minimum Requirements:
Qualified candidates must have 3+ years of print advertising experience and have established strong relationships with clients and their agencies. Consumer display magazine experience and a bachelor's degree are a definite plus. Must to be able to develop creative winning sales strategies and effectively present them. Must be able to work in a team environment and effectively collaborate across all departments to build successful ad proposals.

Junior Account Executive -- Travel (New York)
Responsibilities:
Within an assigned territory, you will be responsible for working with existing clients to grow and service their business as well as develop new clients for our quarterly Travel sections, Golf sections, state co-ops and display advertising.Ê Additional responsibilities include insuring correctness of all ordered ad space, trafficking ads through Production, proofreading ads and layouts and working with clients to get ad approvals as necessary.Ê This position also works closely with the Marketing Department to create advertising sell sheets, email blasts and mailings that promote all Travel section advertising in USA WEEKEND.Ê As part of the overall responsibilities, the Junior Account Executive will attend and exhibit at Travel trade shows and state conventions with the primary purpose of strengthening relationships with current advertisers and developing new business leads.
Minimum Requirements:
A minimum of two years advertising experience either at a publication or in the media department of an advertising agency is required.Ê At least two years of college is preferred.Ê Applicant needs to be proficient in PC applications such as Microsoft Office including PowerPoint.Ê Must also be able to work in a team environment and collaborate with many departments to begin a selling career successfully.

USA WEEKEND Magazine seeks an experienced newspaper relations professional to serve as the company's regional director for the Midwest and western regions. The Regional Director, Midwest/West will be expected to sell and service potential and ongoing newspaper companies that distribute USA WEEKEND and manage client services.
Responsibilities:
-- To visit with, present and give proposals to non-client and client targeted newspapers and convert prospective newspaper publishers and department heads into distributing USA WEEKEND.
-- Work with current publishers to give proposals to and review the USA WEEKEND resources available to them for increased readership and ad revenue
-- Present to Department head managers on ways to utilize USA WEEKEND, NIE, Circulation, and Advertising value added programs
-- Represent USA WEEKEND at industry meetings and conference respond to the needs of clients
-- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have a college degree with a minimum of five years sales/sales management experience in the newspaper industry. You must have a solid understanding of newspaper operations, and be able to travel 40-50 percent of the time. Fluency in English, verbally and written, as well as knowledge of Microsoft Suite is most beneficial.

USA WEEKEND, the nation's second-largest-circulation magazine, is looking for interns for Summer 2008. We are located in the new Gannett/USA TODAY headquarters in Tyson's Corner, behind Tyson's II at 7950 Jones Branch Drive, McLean.
Qualifications:
-- Must be able to work regular office hours a minimum of 2 days a week.
-- Internship is unpaid, so you must be receiving academic credit. A travel stipend is provided.
-- Macintosh experience necessary.
-- Knowledge of Photoshop, Quark and Adobe Illustrator and knowledge/ability to do research on the Internet is expected.
